This Sunday, June 10th, we are participating in Taste of the Nation, a fundraising event organized by Share Our Strength which is a non-profit dedicated to ending childhood hunger in America. Through their No Kid Hungry program, Share Our Strength supports school breakfast programs, help ensure kids have food at home by helping more eligible families enroll in SNAP, keeps kids fed outside of school by ensuring access to afterschool and summer programs that provide snacks or meals and educates families how to prepare healthy, affordable meals. Since Share Our Strength was founded in 1984, they have raised more than $300 million and supported over 1,000 groups around the world working to end childhood hunger.
Taste of the Nation Los Angeles is one of 41 events across America that will be helping to end childhood hunger. It takes place at The Lot in West Hollywood where host Chef Gary Arabia from Global Cuisine will be welcoming chefs from all over the Los Angeles, including Culina, Whist, BLD, Border Grill, FIG, ink.sack, Lukshon & Father’s Office, and Picca and Mo-Chica, Haven Gastropub+Brewery, along with Angelenos’ favorite bars, wineries, and craft breweries. Those who purchase VIP tickets will enjoy additional dishes from Waylynn Lucas’ (fōnuts) and UMAMIcatassen’s PIGG by Chris Cosentino. Each summer, LA’s hottest chefs and mixologists volunteer their time, talent and passion at Taste of the Nation to raise the critical funds needed to end childhood hunger. We are excited and proud to be sharing a table with Chef Kris from Night+Market to help raise awareness and contribute to Share Our Strength’s cause.
