THE SALO PROJECT KICKOFF DINNER ON FEB. 27 WILL BRING FILIPINO CUISINE TO 50 STATES IN 50 WEEKS

On February 27th, we help kick off The SALO Project at the Greenpoint Reformed Church in Brooklyn, NY. The SALO Project is Yana Gilbuena’s series of traveling underground pop-up dinners featuring regional Filipino cuisine, which will hit all 50 US states in the course of 50 weeks. Gilbuena gave up her lease in NY, sold all her belongings and will be bringing the authentic taste of the Philippines across the country with nothing more than her backpack, knives and a bicycle while couch surfing and seeking out local, seasonal ingredients. All meals during SALO will be served Kamayan Style, where the food is served family style on banana leaves and is eaten with hands, a long standing tradition for Filipinos.

Check out the SALO Facebook page here. To check out the menu and make reservations for the kickoff dinner click here.
